As the herd moved to the shade of some camel thorn trees, the resident wildebeest engaged in a head-on confrontation with his rival, scattering the herd. Dust and grass flew in all directions as they nudged each other with their horns.
The rival eventually surrendered by breaking away. He trotted off to join the rest of the disappearing herd. The resident bull triumphantly joined his female for a quiet sun-downer at the waterhole.
